“The quality of education Miss Ginger provides is impossible to estimate. The community she inspires is also quite remarkable. Over the course of two years, we watched our little one grow with an emotional intelligence that comes from an educator who has a deep understanding of what kids need to thrive and a patience that is incomprehensible to me. Our family is truly grateful for her warmth and diligence.”

“Our family has had both our kids enrolled in Greenhouse since 2019 and they have had the absolute best time with Ms. Ginger. The small size of the school, the incredible families in the Greenhouse community, Ms. Ginger’s play-based model and focus on social-emotional learning all helped to create an environment where our kids thrived! Every day was a new adventure, Greenhouse is a place that kids can go to just be kids. Climbing trees (safely of course), playing in the mud, exploring creatures that squirm and wiggle, this type of play filled our kids with confidence and as they entered elementary school, they were not only academically prepared for kindergarten but socially prepared to make new friendships and continue their adventures in learning. It was so very hard to say goodbye to the Greenhouse family, their experiences and love for Ms. Ginger as a teacher makes you want to press pause and keep them in preschool forever. I can say with confidence that any kid who attends Greenhouse will have the time of their life and form lasting friendships that stretch well beyond pre-K.”

“Ginger and Greenhouse was exactly what we were looking for. We sent our daughter for 18 months and we wish we never had to take her out (we moved). Ginger’s ability to care for her children and desire to go above and beyond cannot be understated. The close-knit parent community that comes from the school was another cherry on top!”

“We felt so lucky to find Greenhouse Preschool and to find Miss Ginger! We were looking for a smaller classroom enviorment to help my son to improve his social-emotional skills and Miss Ginger certainly helped us achive our goal. We felt very welcome since day one, both from Miss Ginger as well as from the students/parents community. My son loved his time at the school so much and he was very happy to go to school every day. We were so happy with his growth and I would highly recommend Greenhouse to anyone who is looking for a caring, loving and supporting preschool!”

“We will miss Miss Ginger and Greenhouse dearly! Our daughter grew so much and had so much fun while staying connected to her wild nature loving self while playing with friends in the yard, mud kitchen, building forts and exploring bugs/plants. I cannot recommend the preschool more, I am just sad we haven’t found it earlier and only spend a year there. Miss Ginger is loving, nurturing, gentle and oh so much fun for kiddos! Her focus on emotional development helped our daughter grow her confidence and respect in interactions with others. Our daughter knew no English when she started preschool last fall, and Ginger was very accommodating and used some of the words she new in Russian already and even tried to learn more to help our daughter feel welcome in the new environment. She is all so ready for Kindergarten this fall, and so fluent now! Thanks for this amazing community!”

“Our son has been attending Greenhouse preschool for 2.5 years and we have been so grateful for Ginger and the Greenhouse community, and even more so during the pandemic. Our son has absolutely thrived at Greenhouse – he is naturally a bit shy, and his confidence and sense of self has absolutely blossomed because of Ginger and the safe and caring environment she nurtures. He is off to kindergarten in the fall, and he is more than ready – he exceeds all of the markers Northshore School District lays out almost entirely because of his time at Greenhouse (we have done little at home with writing, etc). More importantly, Ginger has a play-based model and a huge focus on social-emotional learning, and the skills he has learned in this regard I have no doubt will serve him for his entire life: his ability to speak up for himself, manage conflict with his peers, recognize and celebrate diversity in the world, identify and solve problems, and generally understand and feel comfortable with a range of emotions. We also love that Ginger has such a huge focus on being in nature and that he often comes home dirty – the kids play outside and in the garden for hours a day where logs are school buses, mud kitchens become slug towers, branches transform into forts. It feels like childhood as it should be, full of joy and wonder. We are sad to leave Ginger and the wonderful Greenhouse community as he goes on to the next phase of life.”

“I can’t say enough how amazing Greenhouse has been for our daughter over the last 2 years. Ginger does a fantastic job of building a curriculum that enables the children to grow and build skills that will be paramount both academically and emotionally as they gear up for elementary school. What we have appreciated the most is the amount of care and love that Ginger puts into the experience and it’s evident day in and day out. Our daughter has grown tremendously over the last 2 years and has really built confidence as she prepares for kindergarten in the fall. We feel very fortunate to have found Greenhouse and will deeply miss having this school a part of our family’s life!”

“My son started going to Greenhouse Preschool in 2019 and he loved the school and Miss Ginger immediately. Sending him somewhere was hard for me, but quickly I realized that this wasn’t just “somewhere”— Ginger gave my son a loving and comfortable place to grow and play and learn and be himself. Since the get-go I’ve been amazed by Ginger; her calming presence, her ability to engage with kids in such a genuine and natural way, and her broad and diverse knowledge about teaching. I could go on and on, but Ginger has an incredible gift with these kids, and in my opinion: she was made for this. I couldn’t recommend Greenhouse more— a loving environment, a group of families who feel like family, and most of all: a place where I trust my child is being encouraged to be exactly who he is — within healthy boundaries of course 🙂 Each child is celebrated and loved, by each other and by Miss Ginger. Greenhouse became a second home for my son, so needless to say, we are very sad to move on (for Kindergarten) but beyond thankful for our time.”

“We were lucky enough to find this preschool and enroll our daughter at a time when she was dreading separation from us. Miss Ginger was receptive to this and taught our daughter how to function and thrive in a group. Day in and day out, Miss Ginger went above and beyond with our daughter, constantly challenging her and pushing the boundaries with what she and we thought she was capable of. Our daughter graduated from Greenhouse with boosted self confidence, the ability to sound out words and read, manage her emotions and best of all a community of like-minded children and parents.”

“Ginger is a wonderful teacher, and my daughter absolutely loved going to her preschool. She really engaged with the kids, and offered fun and education in an environment that was warm, welcoming, calm and full of what I always saw as happy, thriving kids. My daughter gained amazing relationships, valuable skills and had lots of fun both indoors and outdoors in her amazing space. I would recommend this preschool to my friends, I wish we had found it earlier and was sad when my daughter graduated.”

“My family feels so blessed to have had Miss Ginger teach both our girls. She taught them so much beyond the kinderprep curriculum. My children’s love of nature, care for the environment, concern and compassion for others, conflict resolution, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning are all rooted in their time spent with Miss Ginger. Every day they would come home teaching me things…from life skills to how to have fun, Miss Ginger covers it all!

Miss Ginger’s passion for learning is contagious. My eldest’s love of history and music rapidly evolved from Miss Ginger’s lesson plan on the Titanic. It started with being captivated by the story, and led to Miss Ginger teaching her how to play her first song on the keyboard, “My Heart Will Go On.” Now she loves reading historical novels, and wants to play multiple instruments. I can’t keep up!

Miss Ginger is also so good at pushing kids beyond their comfort zone. She took my child who detested dirt and bugs and turned her into someone who now loves to get muddy and dirty, and is fascinated by all creatures…even the scary ones!

Miss Ginger is so inclusive. I remember one kid who was struggling with his emotions, and would push kids, etc. My instinct was to want that kid kicked out. But Miss Ginger helped this kid learn to identify his feelings and talk about things instead of hurting others, and I’d find my child coming home so proud, saying so-and-so “is learning to use his words!” They became great playmates…and I was ready to cast this kid aside. She sees the good in people and builds on it. We need more people like Miss Ginger in this world.

She teaches kids to be independent, but is also so loving and nurturing. My girls and I are better humans because of Miss Ginger. She will embrace your family, and prepare your children for so much in life, leaving big shoes to fill for all their future teachers!”

“Our son Isaac adored Ms. Ginger and loved his time with her. She did a wonderful job of recognizing his strengths and helping him to further develop and cultivate them. At the same time she acknowledged areas he could improve on but she did so in a loving and caring way so that he in no way felt any negativity. He grew so much in his maturity during his time with Ms. Ginger and he excelled in kindergarten! My husband and I would highly recommend Ms. Ginger for anyone looking for preschool for their child!!”

“Miss Ginger was an amazing preschool teacher in so many ways. She brought creativity and exploration into the classroom and made every day interesting and fun. She encouraged our daughter, Eliza, to try new things and build her skills. She was generous and fun and so present with the kids. I believe she truly loved being with them, and they could feel it. I still cry every single time I read the note that she wrote in Eliza’s goodbye card. Eliza loved her dearly and I feel very fortunate that Ginger was a partner in helping us to raise our little girl. A truly magical teacher. The parents and children in Bothell are very lucky to have her in their community!!”

“Our son loved his time with Miss Ginger. She really knew and valued him—he wasn’t treated as one of many kids, but was treated as an individual who brought his own strengths to the community. Ginger’s positivity and love of the natural world was evident in everything she did. The classroom was filled with rocks, bird’s nests, and leaves, and the kids were encouraged to explore their interests. A true professional, when she had concerns about our son’s development, she brought them up appropriately and with the evidence to back them up. Ginger’s warmth and gentleness is incredible and we always felt deeply thankful that she was in our child’s life as an additional loving adult with whom to build a relationship.”

“Our 5 year old and our family loves Miss Ginger! We can’t say enough about Ginger’s level of caring and effective teaching. We’re sad she is leaving Bellingham, but we’re happy families in another location will have access to her wonderful personality and teaching skill. We wish you the best Ginger, and thank you for the kindness and love you showed our kids!”

“Miss Ginger is my daughter’s favorite teacher, still, even being 2 years out of pre-K. Miss Ginger is so engaging, creative with her activities and really gets to know each individual child to help steer their learning and meet their social and emotional needs. My daughter was never bored and looked forward to going to school each day!”
